Mission Statement

The Junior Orange Bowl Committee, Inc. is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization that serves the community of South Florida and the Youth of the world by providing opportunities for wholesome, competitive, and multicultural experiences.

Message From the 2011-2012 President

As President of the Junior Orange Bowl Committee, I welcome you to the 2011-2012 Festival Season. This is the 63rd year of the “Largest International Youth Sports and Arts Festival" and the 50th anniversary of our International Tennis Tournament. The Tennis Committee is coordinating a spectacular series of events in addition to the world class tennis tournament to help celebrate this historic milestone.

The Junior Orange Bowl Committee is dedicated to celebrating youths from around the world by showcasing their talents in 16 different events that are as diverse as the children that participate in them. The world is very well represented as children come to Coral Gables from over 75 different countries to participate in the Junior Orange Bowl Festival.

The Junior Orange Bowl Committee is well known and respected internationally and this was never more evident than this past year when we were honored with the Premio Binchi (Giorgio Binchi International Prize) in Teramo, Italy.  This Award recognizes organizations outstanding efforts in promoting high level athletic competition involving youths from around the world. It was a great honor for us to receive this award and it showed that we not only make a difference here in South Florida but globally as well.

Our Festival and Parade theme this year is “Soaring to New Heights!” Something we would love to see all children have the opportunity to do. Come out to this year’s Junior Orange Bowl events and watch the future leaders of this world soar to new heights.

One last thing. I would like to thank all of our volunteers for their tireless efforts—without them there is no Junior Orange Bowl Committee.

Sincerely,

Dallas Brown, President Junior Orange Bowl Committee
